MORE CARDINAL VICTORY!

Just when you thought the Cards had done it, here we go again. No, not the St. Louis baseball Cardinals, but the South Shelby Cardinals. My high school is....STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS! Woo hoo! I went to church with all the O'Laughlin's and the asst coach was in my class. Here's an article....

South Shelby 34, Marionville 27, OT



ST. LOUIS (AP) - Matt Patterson hit Luke O'Laughlin with a nine-yard touchdown pass in overtime to lift South Shelby over Marionville 34-to-27 today for the Class One state championship. The overtime was just the third in Show-Me Bowl history. Ethan Harris ran for 228 yards and two touchdowns for the Cardinals, who finished their season 13-and-1. South Shelby last won a state title in 1970 as a Class Two-A school. The game also saw Marionville's Lee Flood run for 91 yards to bring his total for the year to three-thousand-316. That broke the Missouri high school single-season record he set last year with three-thousand-272 yards.The Comets also finished their seasons 13-and-1. South Shelby's Luke O'Laughlin set a new Show Me Bowl record with three interceptions against the Comets.
